Former journalist JS Ranjit Singh, formerly with FMT and other news organizations, passed away at the age of 53 after suffering a heart attack while visiting a friend. He was part of the #latestmalaysia team at its launch in 2021. He will be missed.

His brother, Abdul Malik Abdullah, described Ranjit as a knowledgeable and obliging man, known as “Mr. Know All.” Ranjit had a long career in journalism, serving with the national news agency Bernama, the Malaysian Reserve, and Astro Awani, where he worked as an editor in the Economics Desk since 2013. His final tribute ceremony was held at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Cemetery and Crematorium Center in Cheras on Tuesday.
