The popular singer, Taylor Swift claims that her mom was raised in Singapore. However, netizens did the math and claim that she is in fact related to Malaysia. Singapore and Malaysia at one point were one nation. 

Taylor Swift is from “Tanah Melayu”? 

Netizens add that her mother was raised in Singapore from 1958 till 1967. Due to the technicalities, some decide that this could be a fact. However, her mother was still on the island and it was not clear if they visited Malaysia during that period.  

There are those who are not fans of the singer. They state that we should not claim “mid,” referring to mediocre. But for obvious reasons, the post was made with a satire intent.
