JEMPOL: A 61-year-old senior citizen who is also a government pensioner lost RM44,500 after being threatened by an Indonesian woman known through social media for spreading her nude videos through Facebook messenger. The incident started on May 29 after he met the scammer online and received a video call later on June 3.

The victim answered the call and found the suspect naked, before asking the victim to take off his clothes as well. The victim then took off his pants and showed his privates to the suspect and made a video call within about a minute, not knowing the video call was being recorded. Shortly after that, the victim received a one-minute video recording showing the victim’s face and private parts. From then on, he received many other calls with repeated sending of the video to his messenger, prompting him to make several payments to the scammer, amounting to a total of RM44,500!
