Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that the issue of the six parliamentary seats held by Bersatu representatives should be referred to the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat. Anwar mentioned that the government has left it to Tan Sri Johari Abdul to decide on Bersatu’s motion to vacate these seats.

“The matter of the six Bersatu seats needs to be referred to the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat. Let the Speaker decide,” he told the media after Friday prayers at Masjid Tun Abdul Aziz in Petaling Jaya. Bersatu had submitted a notice requesting that the seats of six MPs who supported Anwar be vacated.
