Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, clinched the Korea Masters title today, marking Malaysia’s first men’s doubles win of the year. In a thrilling final held at Iksan Gymnasium, Aaron and Wooi Yik, ranked sixth in the world, battled past South Korea’s Jin Yong and Kim Won-ho in three sets to secure the title along with a US$15,750 (RM69,020) prize. Despite entering as tournament favorites, Aaron-Wooi Yik faced a challenging match, dropping the first set 21-23. Energized by home support, Jin and Kim pressed on, but Aaron-Wooi Yik held firm to take the victory. According to Berita Harian, Wooi Yik delivered a strong performance in the deciding set, ultimately ending the contest in 66 minutes.
