New: Action plan to tackle violent extremism launched

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed the need for enhanced monitoring to prevent violence in Malaysia. Speaking at the launch of the Malaysia Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (MYPCVE), he emphasized early detection in schools, politics, and specific groups to prevent violent incidents. Anwar highlighted the government’s commitment to national security, praising the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and its Special Branch for their counter-terrorism efforts. He warned against extremism in all forms—religious, racial, and criminal—and underscored the importance of adhering to laws to maintain peace and prevent national destruction.​
