The Ministry of Education (KPM) has officially announced additional school holidays for 2026, providing students and teachers with a longer break. According to the 2026 Academic Calendar, schools in Group A (Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu) will begin their leave on March 19. Meanwhile, Group B—comprising Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, and other states—will enjoy two extra days of holiday on March 19 and 20.

Crucially, the Aidilfitri holidays have been strategically aligned with the First Term Break, significantly extending the rest period. For Group A, the term break will run for nine days from March 20 to 28. Group B students will observe their break from March 21 to 29. This scheduling aims to facilitate smoother travel for families celebrating the festive season while ensuring the academic year remains balanced.
