Kuala Lumpur: A study in Indonesia shows that almost half a million (4.7 million) citizens in Jakarta may have contracted the deadly Coronavirus.
Jakarta has a population of 10.6 million people and 44.5 per cent of those tested had antibodies against Covid-19.
This is 12 times the number of confirmed cases — 382,000 — in Jakarta at the time of the survey but infections has surged to more than 689,000 last week.
The survey was conducted among 5,000 people across the city.
The report found infection rates were higher in women, with most of the infected people aged between 30 and 49 years.
