An X page called “Republicans Against Trump” has almost a million followers and states they’re “tired” of winning under their President’s tariffs as consumers would now need to pay 55% tariffs for goods imported from China.
Americans tired of Trump’s “winning” tariffs
X users add that small American businesses will suffer the brunt of the costs if they were to absorb them. The user also claims that the prices will go up exponentially if larger corporations are faced without competition.
It is difficult to buy American products, especially if the country isn’t producing enough for its own people, let alone for exporting to other nations. Americans are looking at the tariffs as another form of taxation that will be carried by them.
US Tariffs, also known as the MAGA tax?
It appears those supporting the Republican party are calling these tariffs the MAGA tax. Some users are trying to make this a trending topic on X.
Some are even complaining that under the Biden administration, conservatives were complaining about the high prices of essential goods. However, it seems that under the Trump administration, prices are still going up.
There are MAGA supporters who think that it would be China paying the 55% tariffs, and that the US will pay a 10% tariff as China is imposing a 10% tariff on US goods. Social media users call these supporters as the finest examples of the uneducated MAGA supporters.
