Zahid said the move came after strong advocacy from BN ministers and concerns raised across the administration. SMEs have struggled with high technology costs, complex accounting integration, and rigid timelines under the Inland Revenue Board’s system.
The Cabinet will also revisit the mandatory two per cent EPF contribution for foreign workers, which employers argue is financially burdensome. Zahid described the reviews as positive steps to ease pressure on Malaysia’s business community.
