Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that any attempt to destabilize the unity government cannot rely on Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for support. Anwar revealed that Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg firmly rejected desperate attempts to persuade GPS to abandon the unity government.

Anwar emphasized the importance of GPS’s stance in the current political scenario, stating that any change requires the support of GPS and GRS. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to form a “backdoor government” but noted it could only happen with the cooperation of both states. Anwar affirmed continued collaboration with Barisan Nasional (BN).
