KUANTAN, March 20 — Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), M Kulasegaran, has drawn criticism after being seen accompanying activist Arun Dorasamy at the Jawi Magistrate’s Court recently.

Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman said Kulasegaran should have been more sensitive to the issue, warning that such actions risk creating negative public perception. She noted that the public already questions “different treatment” in certain cases, and this incident worsens optics. Kulasegaran clarified he did not enter the courtroom but briefly met Arun outside, urging him to trust the legal process during upcoming proceedings.
