Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim revealed to the residents of Permatang Pauh the threats he received from “wealthy gangs” while the government was striving to “cleanse” the nation.
Speaking at an Aidiladha celebration in Kampung Guar Perahu, Anwar mentioned that certain groups conspired against the country when it was burdened with RM1.5 trillion in debt and the people were facing hardships.

“In difficult times, we should clean up this country and pursue corrupt individuals and misappropriation, I have received various threats. These wealthy gangs have conspired,” he said. Anwar also criticized groups attempting to manipulate Malay sentiments during the cleansing process.

“These billion-dollar troublemakers, now they want to advocate for ‘Malay livelihood’ and such. What are you trying to do?” he added. Anwar vehemently denied allegations of enriching his own family and stated that he had no personal interests to protect. Anwar exposes the threats to inform the people of the difficulties he is facing to clean the country.
