Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved RM250 million for the construction of the Kota Bharu Sentral Integrated Bus Terminal, known as KB Sentral, in Kelantan. Anwar handed over the project approval letter to Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud during the Sebarkan Salam Kota Bharu Berselawat event at Dataran Muhammadi on Saturday.
He stressed that the allocation was RM250 million, not RM250,000, underscoring the scale of the federal government’s commitment to improving public transport facilities in the state.
Federal Government Steps Up Transport Infrastructure Support for Kelantan
Anwar said the project was approved to address the need for better bus facilities in Kelantan, noting that attention should not be focused solely on airport infrastructure. He acknowledged that the existing bus terminal required improvements and said the approval letter had been delivered to the state government.
The Prime Minister also dismissed claims that the unity government had neglected Kelantan, which is administered by an opposition-led state government.
He praised Mohd Nassuruddin for openly raising the state’s needs and said the federal administration remained committed to resolving public issues regardless of political differences. The RM250 million allocation is expected to support the development of a more integrated bus terminal, although further project details and its construction timeline were not specified in the announcement.
