Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed ministries and government agencies to accelerate the implementation of Budget 2027, stressing that announced policies and allocations must translate into tangible benefits for Malaysians.

Prime Minister Warns Against Bureaucratic Delays in Delivering Public Benefits
Anwar highlighted the importance of institutional and economic reforms, including targeted subsidies and stronger governance, to reduce wastage and ensure public funds are used effectively.
He criticised unnecessary administrative delays, saying routine matters should not take weeks when they could be resolved within a day. He also cited initiatives such as Bandar MADANI housing registration and RM1,000 assistance for taxi drivers as examples of measures that could be implemented quickly.
The prime minister called for faster approval processes for a planned 10,000 student hostel units at Universiti Malaya. He also said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar would meet ministry secretaries-general and department heads to monitor implementation progress.
Budget 2027, presented on October 9, provides RM459.8 billion in federal expenditure. Anwar’s latest directive places the focus on timely delivery, coordination and accountability so that approved initiatives produce meaningful results for the public.
Anwar wants ministries and agencies to speed up Budget 2027 delivery, with stronger monitoring and fewer administrative delays.
