New: Zahid Pulls Out of PAS Ummah Unity Gathering

KOTA BHARU, Oct 21, 2026: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has withdrawn from PAS’s mega Ummah Unity gathering scheduled at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium on Friday.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said Zahid would be unable to attend due to an Umno programme in Melaka on the same day.

According to Takiyuddin, the Barisan Nasional chairman had been expected to speak alongside PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang at the event, which organisers expect to attract more than 100,000 attendees.

Zahid Pulls Out

He said Kelantan Umno had conveyed Zahid’s apologies and greetings to PAS.

Takiyuddin also revealed that Kelantan Umno intends to organise a separate Ummah Unity event in the state after the Melaka election on Nov 14.

Despite Zahid’s absence, he urged PAS members and supporters to ensure a strong turnout at the gathering, which is being held to commemorate 36 years of PAS administration in Kelantan.
