A newlywed couple’s choice of a Perodua Bezza as their wedding car has drawn a wave of support from Malaysian netizens. The Bezza is popular for its efficiency and affordable price, and the couple had a wedding ribbon hooked onto the car to mark their new marriage.
Wedding Ribbon on a Bezza: Couple Gets Support Against Online “Shade”
The post drew criticism from a Threads user, who said she would feel “embarrassed” and that decorating a Bezza in wedding gear looked “B40.”
Most social media users disagreed. Many asked what is wrong with using such a car on a wedding day, and said they did not understand the “shade” aimed at the couple, since the choice of car is theirs alone.
Some pointed out that many Malaysians earning more than RM4,000 prefer economical cars, as luxury vehicles are not everything to most people.
Others praised the couple as smart, saying money is not the only symbol of happiness. Users also said it is unfair to judge the couple when practically nothing is known about them.
One user added that they know a couple who own multiple homes, yet their preferred vehicle is a Perodua Myvi.
