MELAKA, Oct 24 — Cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and PAS in the upcoming Melaka state election is expected to provide an advantage, but party members must not become complacent, said Pantai Kundor assemblyman Datuk Tuminah Kadi.
Tuminah said the political cooperation could help BN secure a stronger showing than in previous elections, provided the party machinery continues working hard on the ground.
“Cooperation certainly gives us an advantage. However, we cannot afford to be comfortable and must continue working to ensure the previous victory is maintained and perhaps even improved,” she told reporters after the launch of the Pantai Kundor election machinery.

The event was officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Tuminah noted that continuous effort remains important given the diverse backgrounds and approaches within the party.
Commenting on the possibility of being renominated to defend the Pantai Kundor seat, she said the decision rests with Tangga Batu division chief Datuk Rais Yasin and Ab Rauf, who is also Melaka BN chairman.
While expressing her desire to retain the seat, Tuminah said the official confirmation would only be known when BN announces its candidates.
