SEREMBAN, July 20, 2026 – Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar (Dr Sam) described the announcement of PN’s candidates for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election as a historic moment marking the beginning of efforts to “win Malaysia.” Speaking at KOMPAS Kampung Ismail, Ampangan last week, he said Negeri Sembilan was chosen as the starting ground for change, with PN leaders, supporters, and several Members of Parliament present.

Dr Sam also highlighted the understanding with Barisan Nasional (BN), citing BN Negeri Sembilan chairman Mohamad Hasan’s remarks about cooperation with a “good partner” in facing the polls. PN unveiled 11 new candidates, completing a total of 36 contenders. Dr Sam stressed that all candidates represent PN’s identity, not individual component parties, as part of a larger struggle toward victory in the next general election.
