At least13 families in Bukit Setongkol, Kuantan were asked to remove the white flags placed in front of their houses.

Residents claim an unidentified individual accompanied by three policemen told them it is an offence to put the white flags. Fearing the police, they pulled down the flags.

However, the residents say they placed the white flags as a plea for help. They say they were running out of food supplies. The Bukit Setongkol residents are small traders and they could not operate during the MCO.

The Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Teruntum, Sim Chong Siang on Thursday handed assistance to the residents, the report says.
