The Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state by-elections begin tomorrow with nominations at Sri Lamag Hall. Candidates must submit forms between 9am and 10am, after which the returning officer will confirm eligibility.
Bung Moktar’s Son, BN’s Candidate
Barisan Nasional has named Mohd Naim Kurniawan, son of the late Bung Moktar, for Kinabatangan, and Mohd Ismail Ayob (Miha) for Lamag. Parti Warisan will field Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman for Kinabatangan and Mazliwati Abdul Malek for Lamag.
The Election Commission has set a 14‑day campaign period until January 23, with polling on January 24. Over 48,700 voters are registered, supported by 926 police personnel for security.
