Sidewalks are meant as a place for pedestrians to walk on. However, like most Southeast Asian countries, Malaysia has an issue with parking lots. It appears that either there are not enough parking spaces or some drivers are refusing to pay for parking their cars.

Cars parking on sidewalks angering netizens
There have been debates on making Kuala Lumpur a walkable city, but there is some backlash to it. However, X users suggest that places which have these pedestrian walks to have concrete blockers in order for these vehicles to not park there.
Others are asking for the involvement of the local councils on dealing with the situation. Fines for cars that park on these pavements are usually done but it appears that in some areas that is not the entire case.
