A childcare teacher, Nur Suhadah Saharudin, 24, pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court to abusing an 11-month-old baby boy at a nursery in Puncak Alam on December 13. She admitted to pinching the baby’s cheeks and ears, causing physical injuries, and requested a reduced bail, citing her wedding scheduled the following day. The court set bail at RM10,000 with one guarantor and prohibited her from contacting the victim. Violating this condition would result in bail revocation. The case, under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment, a RM50,000 fine, or both.
