Comedian now pleads for bail to send kids to school after kantoi with drugs

Comedian Muhammad Nizamuddin Ahmad, known as Along Cham, pleaded for bail in a Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court after being charged with possession of 58g of cannabis under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act. Facing a potential life sentence or a minimum of five years’ imprisonment with 10 strokes of the cane, Muhammad Nizamuddin begged the judge, citing his responsibilities as a father. The judge explained that the charge was non-bailable under the law. Arrested at his Cyberjaya home last week, the comedian was remanded until his court appearance. His lawyer, Mohd Fadly Hashim, later arrived to represent him.
