CTOS Digital Bhd estimates that a cybersecurity incident on September 23 could reduce its profit after tax and minority interest (PATAMI) by RM12 million and revenue by RM16 million for the financial year ending December 31, 2026.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on October 13, the credit reporting company said the estimates reflect service interruptions and the costs of restoring affected systems. The figures remain preliminary and may change as further information becomes available.
Disrupted Credit Reporting Services Continue to Affect CTOS Operations
CTOS Digital estimated a RM5 million PATAMI impact and RM3 million revenue impact for the third quarter of 2026. For the fourth quarter, the company expects a further RM7 million PATAMI impact and RM13 million in lost revenue.
It also warned that each additional week certain services remain unavailable could result in RM1.3 million in PATAMI losses and RM2.5 million in revenue losses.
Some services, including CTOS Score and reports related to the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS), remain temporarily unavailable.
The company said remediation and restoration work is underway, alongside additional security measures. Independent reviews are being conducted to validate the effectiveness of these measures, with completion expected in October 2026. CTOS said affected services would resume once restoration work and independent validation are satisfactorily completed.
