DAP’s Anthony Loke explains why the lack of representation in parliament
Anthony Loke, the Secretary-General of DAP, emphasized that the Prime Minister holds absolute authority in appointing cabinet ministers. Loke acknowledged the concerning polarization and the party’s response to it, explaining their acceptance of a limited number of ministerial positions.
He highlighted the importance of a functioning government for the sake of Malaysia’s diverse society, stating that Anwar Ibrahim is currently the only viable choice for Prime Minister. Loke expressed that if Anwar’s leadership were to fail, the alternative option of Perikatan Nasional is not favored by the DAP.
Their decisions were made to ensure the government’s functionality and commitment to multiculturalism. Loke also serves as the Minister of Transport.
