Encroachment is illegal, even for a mosque, says Akmal

PETALING JAYA, April 11, 2025 — Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh emphasized that land encroachment cases, like those involving “illegal” temples and felled Musang King durian trees in Pahang, should be treated as legal matters, not racial disputes. “Encroachment is an offence, regardless of who’s involved,” he said on Facebook. Akmal referenced the relocation of the Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman temple in Kuala Lumpur and the Save Musang King Alliance’s claims against the Pahang government for destroying 200 durian trees….“Even if it involves a mosque being built on land that belongs to others, it is still wrong,” he said in a Facebook post.
