A team of 80 Malaysian search and rescue (SAR) personnel worked tirelessly for nine days, sleeping just two hours a day, in an effort to find 48-year-old Indian national Vijayalaksmi, who fell into an 8-meter sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur on August 23. Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Director, Rozihan Anwar Mamat, expressed the team’s disappointment, noting they faced hazardous conditions, including high water levels, strong currents, and zero visibility in the sewer tunnels.
