PETALING JAYA: Two PAS leaders have dismissed claims of an internal push for party president Abdul Hadi Awang to relinquish his post ahead of the September party elections, pointing fingers at external forces. Johor PAS Youth chief Ahmad Nawfal Mahfodz told FMT, “Clearly this push is coming from outside PAS. Some parties are uneasy with PAS’s performance under Hadi’s leadership.” Terengganu PAS leader Hanafiah Mat echoed this, stating the calls to oust Hadi, a seven-term Marang MP, originate externally, not from members. Despite health concerns, Hanafiah believes Hadi’s leadership remains vital for PAS’s future success.
