Perikatan Nasional (PN) is currently accused of resorting to ethnic and religious issues, including vernacular schools, in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election due to a lack of fresh ideas, says PKR Information Chief Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi Fadzil calling out PN’s campaign tactics
Fahmi, also the Communication Minister, urged PN’s campaign machinery to cease exploiting racial sentiments as it could backfire. He highlighted the hypocrisy of PAS leaders sending their children to Chinese schools while politicizing vernacular education.
Malaysia, he stressed, upholds moderation, and politicians playing the race card, including in vernacular schools, lack maturity. Amid allegations of boycotts, Fahmi dismissed claims of Anwar Ibrahim’s absence, asserting the Prime Minister’s active involvement. Voting for the by-election is set for May 11, with early polling on May 7.
