Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has served a letter of demand to Channel News Asia (CNA) over its report alleging his attempt to “take control” of NexG Berhad, a company with billions in government contracts. The CNA article claimed Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim ordered Farhash to halt efforts, paving the way for businessman Ishak Ismail to lead NexG.
NexG Allegations
Farhash, a former political secretary to Anwar, denied the claims, stressing he holds no direct equity in NexG. His lawyers demanded CNA retract the article within two days or face legal action.
NexG, formerly Datasonic Group, was rebranded in 2025 and is linked to complex crossholdings involving Victor Chin Boon Long. Farhash entered Chin’s corporate orbit via MMAG Holdings, where he owns a 20% stake.
