Police discovered the body of a 45-year-old man with his head severed in a paddy field near his home in Kampung Pida 3, Jerlun, on Friday evening. Kubang Pasu police chief Superintendent Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim said the suspect, aged 38, who is the victim’s brother-in-law, was arrested after being persuaded to surrender with a machete.

“When arrested, the suspect was still holding a machete before finally surrendering after about 15 minutes of persuasion.” The victim’s body was found with multiple slash wounds about 30 metres from the suspect’s house. Police seized a 30cm machete and classified the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
