Firdaus Wong Wai Hung, an independent preacher, emphasized that claims of unauthorized places of worship being over 100 years old must be backed by valid documentation and proof of land ownership, not just occupation duration. He cited a Melaka court case where the government reclaimed land despite long-term use. Speaking on the issue of land encroachment, including a gazetted mosque site in Dengkil, Selangor, he noted the matter was peacefully resolved when the encroaching party agreed to vacate after authorities, including JAIS, intervened. Firdaus urged religious bodies to prevent illegal constructions and called for strict penalties for encroachers, stressing legal resolutions over religious or racial sentiments.
