Form Five Student Dies in Suspected Illegal Street Racing Accident

A Form Five student died early this morning in an accident believed to be linked to illegal street racing on the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway. Barat Daya District police chief ACP Sazalee Adam confirmed the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division received a call around 4:30 am reporting a fatal motorcycle accident. Preliminary investigations revealed the accident occurred while the victim was riding from Georgetown towards Batu Maung.

The exact cause and number of vehicles involved are still unknown, and the victim’s body was sent for an autopsy. No witnesses have come forward to assist with the investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
