Former PKR deputy secretary-general S. Raveentharan has criticized the contest between Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Nurul Izzah Anwar for the party’s deputy president post as “unnecessary” and divisive. The ex-Batu Uban assemblyman warned that the battle risks fracturing the reform-focused party. “It shows a disconnection from ground realities,” he said, urging party president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to dissuade his daughter, Nurul Izzah, from contesting. Raveentharan stressed that PKR and the government should prioritize geopolitical challenges, like looming US tariffs, and sustainable economic growth to uplift the B40 group, whose wages remain inadequate.
