TEMERLOH, Sept 1, 2026 – Four people were killed and eight others injured in a massive collision involving 11 vehicles at KM110.4 of the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), heading towards Kuantan late Monday night.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations deputy director Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the emergency call was received at 10.44pm. The crash involved two Proton Saga cars, two Perodua Myvi, a Toyota Alphard, a Mayang Sari express bus, a Proton S70, a tanker lorry, a Honda CRV, a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Aruz.
Four Dead
Three victims in the Proton S70 – driver Muhammad Nazatullah Nazmi, 32, passenger Nur Atiqah Sofiya Mohd Kazwan, 32, and a child – died at the scene. Another victim, a Chinese man in the Honda CRV, also perished.
Rescue teams from BBP Mentakab and BBP Temerloh used special equipment to free trapped victims. Four others sustained injuries, including two men in the tanker and CRV, a woman in the Hilux, and a man in a Proton Saga.
Thirty bus passengers and occupants of other vehicles escaped unharmed. The bodies were handed to police for further action, while injured victims were treated by the Health Ministry.
