For a brief moment, some demonstrators unfurled a banner infront of the Apple store in TRX, shouting ‘Free, Free, Palestine’. The banner had Palestine written on top with Congo at the bottom. They were apparently swiftly made to walk away as seen in the video posted on X. They were asking people to boycott the iPhone 17.
The action gained enough traction on X to gather a variety of comments. The video, posted by a group that calls itself GEGAR • Gerakan Gabungan Anti-Imperialis • 反帝联盟运 said it Salute these brave human beings for protesting the Apple iPhone 17 phone launch in TRX, Malaysia, with many clapping hands emoji.
Perhaps out of sarcasm, one use on X asked the pertinent question:
“SpongeBob square pants” also was also seen in a post…But some users asked serious questions while others argued they could not get rid of their pre-bought iPhone while saying people have to make their choices in future purchases.
