KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 — The Malaysian government has banned six book titles under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984, citing concerns over their potential harm to public morals. The Home Ministry announced the ban, effective December 19, targeting books including A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime by Monica Murphy and What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silverra. The ministry stated that the move aims to prevent the spread of ideologies conflicting with Malaysia’s multicultural values. Violators face up to three years in jail or a RM20,000 fine. Further details are available on the KDN website.
