This move, discussed by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), aims to better align with the cost of living. Anwar addressed concerns about the T15 definition, emphasising that the current threshold is low. 

The topic gained attention after the Budget 2025 announcement, which excluded the T15 from certain subsidies. Anwar reiterated that government resources should focus on those in need, defending the decision to exclude the T15 and foreign nationals from specific subsidies.
