Govt Allocates RM350mil for Federal Road Repairs in Peninsula

The Malaysian government has allocated RM350 million this year for 563 federal road maintenance projects across Peninsular Malaysia, said Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan. Of this, RM275 million will go towards pavement works, while RM75 million is set aside for non-pavement maintenance.

Contracts will be awarded via balloting among G1 to G4 contractors to ensure transparency and fairness. Ahmad said contractors selected last year are not eligible this year. Balloting for different zones will run through early June. All shortlisted contractors have been vetted, and the ministry is confident in their ability to complete the projects on time.
