Hannah Yeoh says must respect Loke’s resignation bid

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 22, 2026 — The DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) has confirmed that party secretary‑general Anthony Loke’s offer to resign as Transport Minister was the final decision of the committee and must be respected.

CEC deputy secretary‑general Hannah Yeoh said the meeting last Saturday involved lengthy discussions with various proposals before arriving at the decision.

Loke’s resignation

“The CEC is the highest decision‑making body. The final decision was that YB Anthony Loke offered to resign. We must respect that,” she told reporters at the 2026 Deepavali Bazaar.

The decision followed DAP’s stance on the conditional pardon granted to former prime minister Najib Razak. Loke clarified that only he would step down, while other DAP ministers and deputies would remain in the Unity Government to ensure political stability.
