KEPALA BATAS, Aug 11 — A hardware shop owner in Jalan Bertam Perdana has been released on police bail after being investigated for allegedly flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down. Seberang Perai Utara police chief Anuar Abd Rahman said the 59-year-old, arrested on Saturday, was freed yesterday after his statement and those of over 10 witnesses were recorded. Investigation papers have been sent to the deputy public prosecutor. The case is being probed under the Emblems and Names Act, Minor Offences Act, and Communications and Multimedia Act. Police have advised against a planned protest to maintain public order.
