A housewife was charged in the Magistrate’s Court today for allegedly murdering her husband. No plea was recorded from Hew Pit Lee, 59, as the case falls under the High Court’s jurisdiction. She is accused of stabbing Wong Chee Min, 61, at their apartment in Kajang, Semenyih, on February 16, between 10.30 am and 11 am.

The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the death penalty or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction. Magistrate Fatin Dayana Jalil set April 17 for mention. Deputy public prosecutor Norfarhanim Abdul Halim represented the prosecution, while Hew was unrepresented.
