The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob over alleged corruption and money laundering during his time in office. The probe focuses on fund allocations for promotional and publicity purposes.
Investigating Ismail Sabri
Ismail Sabri declared his assets in February 2025 following an order under the MACC Act 2009. Four of his senior officers were arrested, with authorities seizing RM170 million in cash across multiple currencies and 16kg of gold bullion worth nearly RM7 million. The MACC is continuing its investigation independently, with more witnesses set to be called.
