Social media users have questioned why public transport is becoming increasingly expensive compared with private-hire services such as Grab.
They noted that Grab can be a more economical option for groups, as a single car can accommodate at least three passengers, allowing the fare to be split among them.
KLIA Price Increase May Deter Customers
The increase from RM55 to RM65 appears to have been met with little enthusiasm among social media users, with some saying the previous base fare was already expensive.
With the train having operated for several decades, the novelty may also have worn off for many Malaysians, particularly those who would rather avoid the hassle of travelling through KL Sentral.
Others add that if cost is a concern, taking the bus is a much more effective method in comparison to the train.
