SINGAPORE, July 20, 2026 – Kenneth Jeyaretnam, secretary‑general of Singapore’s Reform Party and son of Opposition pioneer JB Jeyaretnam, has died at age 67. His wife, Amanda Jeyaretnam, announced on Facebook that he “died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family.” Funeral arrangements for a small family service are being finalised, with a memorial to follow. “Thank you for your love and support and to everyone who managed to visit him in the hospital, please know it meant a lot to him,” she wrote.

Educated at United World College of South East Asia, Charterhouse School, and Cambridge University, he worked in international banking before entering politics. He assumed leadership of the Reform Party in 2009 after his father’s death, contesting three general elections and the 2013 Punggol East by‑election.
Though he never won elected office, He remained a prominent Opposition voice, campaigning for a more competitive political landscape and continuing his father’s reformist legacy. \
