A local eatery caught on fire just yesterday and netizens are concerned for those affected by the blaze. Most Malaysians would hang out at these places as they are affordable and would offer quick service. For the most part, these places are seen as a hang out place among friends.

Some users had more important questions to ask. One user asks why these local eateries, commonly known as “Mamak” restaurants, would have the word “maju” at the end of their name. The user then claims that some of these places aren’t as their namesake would state.
Others add that these places are required to have fire extinguishers for the safety of their staff and customers. But if a fire gets too strong, it would be difficult to extinguish it with a fire extinguisher.
