PETALING JAYA, Aug 4, 2026 – DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke has announced his resignation as Negeri Sembilan DAP Chairman following his defeat in the Chenah state seat during the recent 16th Negeri Sembilan state election. Loke said the decision was made voluntarily without pressure from any party. “It is time for me to step down as state chairman and allow the state leadership to appoint a successor from the existing committee members,” he stated at a press conference after the DAP Central Executive Committee meeting at the party’s headquarters in Jalan Yew.
Loke Resigns
Despite relinquishing his state leadership role, Loke, who is also the Member of Parliament for Seremban, did not announce any changes to his position as DAP Secretary-General. His resignation follows his loss in Chenah, where he failed to defend the seat, prompting him to step aside for new leadership in Negeri Sembilan.
