Louis Vuitton’s random release of their new line of beauty products has appeared to garner negative remarks from beauty customers and social media users alike. Competing brands like Chanel and Dior offer more affordable entry points for their lipsticks.
Louis Vuitton’s RM740 lipstick underwhelming to social media users
Some users say that for what you’re getting, it is “insane,” and that no lipstick is worth that much, especially with such generic standard packaging. An X user says that it could be priced as such if it were to improve upon one’s makeup and if it’s something no other luxury brands can offer.
Not to mention the abundant number of influencers receiving these cosmetics for free of charge, it makes potential customers wonder if they’re even worth the price tag.
Furthermore, a popular TikToker @kiki_astor states that lipsticks are not status symbols. Additionally, if one wants to show off that they spent RM740 on a lipstick by applying it in public, it may be seen as poor taste.
Regardless, some may say that this could be a last cash grab straw from such a brand in lieu of them allegedly outpricing their customers with the massive price increases of their fashion items.
