A routine co‑curricular activity at a Malacca secondary school turned chaotic on 9 July when a Form One student allegedly chased three classmates with a knife. The incident, which began in the school hall and ended near the surau, saw students throwing ice at the suspect before teachers and prefects intervened to confiscate the weapon.
Mental Health Concerns Linked to Malacca Student’s Actions
Authorities believe the boy has a mental health condition requiring medication. No injuries were reported, though police confirmed the suspect reacted after being provoked. The case follows another violent episode in Banting days earlier, where a female student was stabbed multiple times.
